CENTIONI ORGANIC WHOLE WHEAT FLOUR (500g)

Centioni organic whole wheat flours are made by grinding a perfect blend of the ancient wheat Verna and Gentil Rosso. Those are cultivated in Umbria organically, respecting the natual cycles and the territory.
The slow grinding performed with stones and water guarantees that the germ and the bran are present in our flours, thus preserving all nutritional values. Centioni organic flours have no chemicals at all and they are perfect for bread, pizza, pasta and all desserts.

Centioni whole wheat flours are made by grinding a blend of modern wheat from Tuscany. Even though they are not organic, the Centioni family makes sure those wheat are cultivated in full respect of nature and through the Italian artisanal chain.
The slow grinding performed with stones and water guarantees that the germ and the bran are present in our flours, thus preserving all nutritional values. Moreover, a careful and selected blend ensures that Centioni whole wheat flours are still optimal for bread, pizza, pasta and all desserts.

Every package of Centioni flour is unique. In fact, each of the millers we collaborate with harvests wheat according to natural flows. And depending on the field, on the season and on the secrets of the millers, each and every package represents a unique piece. Nonetheless, thanks to the careful supervision of the Centioni family, all nutrients are always present in each package of flour we prepare. Moreover, every package is manually packaged and sewed.

 

 


Preservation

Centioni flours are very sensitive flours, because they are ground with the most natural techniques possible. And they shall therefore be preserved with care. During cold seasons, Centioni flours have an expiration of 4/6 months, while during warm seasons the expiration is 2/3 months. This is because of the slow process of stone grinding which guarantees the conservation of the germ and the bran. However, those qualities make our flours more sensitive to external conditions with respect to regular flours. A repeated exposure to air (for example by opening and closing a package multiple times) might accelerate the regular process of expiration. We advise to keep Centioni flours away from sources of light and heat, to preserve them in a cool and dry environment (possibly in the fridge but always away from humidity) and to expose them to air for the least time possible.
